AGS Tees Guidelines

The Reddy Tee was the first wooden tee resembling what we use today that was mass produced, marketed and used by players in 1922. By 1925 they were hugely successful and the tee went on to lead the way for more designs. Until then, not just in the years of the gutty ball, wet sand from a box on each tee was often still used for propping up the ball to be hit. From the late 1890s till the twenties there were many other tee designs using rubber, cardboard, metal and leather…and of course there were many sand tee mold designs.

It has been found to be very interesting to try using these other tee products with the Auld golf clubs. It is encouraged to do this along the way as you develop your Auld Golf style. Auld Mac has done much of this and has created reproductions of many tees along the way.

If you are interested send Auld Mac a note…he may just have something fun to try.

We’ll develop this space more in the future.
