The Bristol steel shaft started it all.
Here are just a few of the kinds of shaft treatments they received and the wood heads that were attached. Basically the same heads as on hickory shafts of the time.
Allowed for use in USGA events in 1924. The AGS will include early steel shafted woods in our games.
